THE FIELD GUIDE / Liquid Culture

Get to know your grow.

What Is Blue Oyster Liquid Culture?

Blue Oyster liquid culture contains live Blue Oyster mushroom mycelium suspended inside a sterile nutrient solution, allowing growers to inoculate grain spawn and substrate with vigorous, fast growing genetics. Unlike spores, liquid culture provides actively growing mycelium ready for rapid colonisation and reliable cultivation performance.

Blue Oyster mushrooms, also known as Pleurotus ostreatus, are one of the most popular gourmet mushroom species due to their rapid growth, dense clustered fruits, and attractive blue/grey colouring during early development.

Our Blue Oyster liquid culture is produced using clean master cultures under sterile laboratory conditions to help ensure healthy contamination free mycelial growth.

Why Choose Blue Oyster Liquid Culture Instead of Spores?

Benefits include:

  • Extremely fast colonisation
  • Proven genetics

Blue Oyster mushrooms are considered one of the easiest gourmet mushroom species to cultivate successfully.
